C Layer

Day 1
1.    Listen to Lecture ( 5)
2.    Take notes (5)

Choose 1
3.    Define vocabulary (10)
4.    Flash cards with vocabulary  (10)

Choose 1 (Each activity must contain at least ten facts on volleyball)
5.    Create a brochure that describes the history of volleyball. Include at least ten facts on volleyball.(15)
6.    Create a poster that demonstrates the history of volleyball(15)
7.    Create a Power Point Presentation on volleyball (15)

Day 2
1.    Participate in lecture (5)
2.    Draw and label a volleyball court (5)

Choose 1
3.    Design a board game (10)
4.    Design a book to teach a 2nd grader volleyball (10)

Day 3
1.    Dress Out and exercise (5)
2.    Listen to lecture and observe demonstrated skills (10)
3.    Practice  hitting the volleyball (5)

Day 4
1.    Dress and exercise (5)
2.    Listen to lecture and demonstration (10)
3.    Practice setting and passing the ball (5)

Day 5
1.    Dress and exercise (5)
2.    Listen to lecture and demonstration (10)
3.    Practice hitting the ball twice before hitting it over the net (5)

Day 6
1.    Dress and exercise (5)
2.    Practice serving the ball(5)
3.    Practice  3 skills with a partner or in a group.(15--5pts each)

Day 7
1.    Dress and exercise (5)
2.    Listen to lecture and demonstration (10)
3.    Practice rotating on the volleyball court (5)
4.    Practice serving over the net (5)

Day 8-10   (3 games of volleyball will be played daily. You should play at least 2 games daily. 5pts. For each game you play)
1.    Dress and exercise (15--5 pts daily)
2.    Participate in a game (3 games daily 5pts for each game you play )

Day 11
1.    Listen to lecture (5)
2.    Watch video and list 5 skills observed in the game (10)
Choose 3 or 4
3.    Participate in group discussion of video (5)
4.    Write summary of video (5)

Day 12.
1.    Dress Out and exercise (5)
2.    Participate in at least 2 games (3 games daily 5 pts each)

B Layer--Choose 1 from 1-3, numbers 4 &5 required

1.    Prepare a demonstration to teach another student the volley, serve, and rotation.  (15)
2.    Prepare to demonstrate the bump, setting and rotation (15)
3.    Compare / Contrast volleyball to another sport (15)
4.    Test on vocabulary and history of volleyball (Written or Oral) (50)
5.    Written Physical Test on skills (50)


A Layer --Choose 1

1.    Are Professional Volleyball Players paid enough money? (15)
2.    Should girls at your school be allowed to play football? (15)


Grading Scale:
This scale does not include the points given on the written test;

208-260 = A
156-207 = B
104-155 = C
52-103    =  D
Below 52 = F
