  1. Small group activity:  Make a model of a Roman Structure. 
    Research and find illustrations of Roman architecture.  Work with a team to find a particular example, such as an aqueduct, the coliseum, etc.  Use modeling clay or other materials to make a model of the structure you have chosen, submit a one-page research report on your topic, and present your project to the class.  See handout (p. 400-401) for more detail.

Using the TV viewing station, watch the video on Ancient Rome.  You MUST take notes while viewing the video.  Then write a five-paragraph report summarizing this ancient civilization.  You may add facts from the textbook and other sources.  All work must be in your own words; double-spaced; 12 point font; 1 inch margins.

  1. Small Group Activity – Make a map of Roman Empire and the surrounding region on butcher paper.  Identify the capital of Italy and the surrounding countries.  See textbook p. 209.  You may work in groups of 2 or 3 students.  You must talk to the teacher before you start this activity.
